Originally from Sheffield, I have lived in Yorkshire, Shropshire, Cheshire and now Nottinghamshire and I have enjoyed art, as a hobby, for many years.

Having experimented with all kinds of media, including watercolour, oil, pastels, mixed media and acrylics, I think the latter is more suitable to my style of work. I have also painted quite a diverse range of subjects but I tend to prefer painting portraits, wildlife and pets. 

I feel that I painted some of my best work whilst living in Nantwich, Cheshire where I was a member of a weekly art group called Art Support. I managed to show a few of my paintings in art exhibitions and some of them sold, including a commissioned painting of Marilyn Monroe.

If I can offer any advice to budding artists, it is to join an art club of like minded people and never compare your work to others. Paint only for the enjoyment it brings to you and if others appreciate your work, that’s a bonus.

‘Tiger Blue Eyes’

Art By Jenny includes paintings of wildlife and pets including a Tiger with young, a Giraffe with young, Rhinos and Highland Cattle.

Entitled ‘Street Jazz’, this depicts a typical band in New Orleans.

I decided to paint ‘Polperro Harbour’ in a fairly loose style which gives an impression of the atmosphere in the place.

Art By Jenny includes scenes of Polperro Harbour, an Australian playing a didgeridoo in Cairns and a Street Jazz scene in New Orleans.
